Hola, yo soy Chantal. Encantada

Hi, I am Chantal, your Host!

In February 2023, I moved to Spain and, by late October, became the proud owner of Casa Morayma and its neighbor, Zoraya. After renovations, Casa Morayma was completed in April 2024 and opened to guests on May 1, 2024.

I hold dual Australian and German citizenship, with English as my first language. Raised globally, I spent my childhood years in Sub-Saharan Africa, Germany, and Iraq, before finishing school in Australia. Later, I built a successful career in international construction and mining, specializing in corporate and project governance.

In 2018, I walked the Camino de Santiago—a life-changing journey that inspired me to pursue my long-forgotten dreams. To live in the European alps. Six months later, I left my home in Brisbane, Australia, my family, and friends, I moved to Kitzbühel, Tirol, in the Austrian Alps.

In March 2020, my plans changed when I was stranded in Cyprus during global lockdowns. While there, I renovated and rented properties and dedicated time to improving animal welfare. It took me three years to get off the island.

In November 2022, I booked a one-way ticket for my dog and me, leaving February 23, 2023. Flying via Larnaca, Athens, and Madrid, I knew only that I wanted to settle close to the Sierra Nevada National and Natural Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
